It is clear we need to significantly reduce our fossil fuel use.
The science of climate change suggests we need to decrease emissions by 80-90% and fossil fuels are the largest source of these emissions. The strong public opposition to new crude oil pipelines in BC has also generated interest in reducing fossil fuel use.
The Zero Fossil Fuels campaign seeks to offer practical examples of how communities can eliminate fossil fuels from their energy needs.
Initially we will focus on how one community, Vancouver, can do so using strategies that have already being implemented here and elsewhere.
